Do you dare to enter the Chernobyl Power Plant's Control Room #4?
We were always fascinated by that room where the worst nuclear disaster happened. From where Anatoly Dyatlov commanded his colleagues and led the situation to the world's most (in)famous nuclear blast. That room, where the AZ-5 (SCRAM) button was pushed too late. THE Control Room #4.
During the regular tours to Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, you're visiting the very same, but yet different control room. You can enter the Control Room of decomissioned Reactor Hall #3, imagine how the workers of the night shift did not manage the situation or try to find the legendary AZ-5 button.
Closed for over 30 years, now safe and open to you to peek into the most epic part of the Chernobyl story. A place where time stopped the very moment of April 26 when reactor 4 (just 30 meters away) exploded and changed the history of mankind and the destiny of millions of people. But what if we can tell you that you can set a foot in to the real Control Room #4?
Now, the control room of Chernobyl's Reactor 4 is open for the tourists and everyone interested can see on their own eyes the scene of the world's worst nuclear disaster.
Is it safe to enter the Control Room #4?
This place is still highly radioactive. The radiation in the room is 40,000 times higher than normal levels, according to Ruptly, a German news agency. People are required to wear protective gear (protective suit, gloves, a helmet and a mask) when inside and limit of the visiting is up to 10 minutes. Before visit and afterward, all visitors are required to undergo radiology test. In the end everyone got not only affecting experience, but also official result from Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, where you can see the the amount of radiation you were exposed to.
What I will see?
