The Real Chernobyl Epicenter
From where Anatoly Dyatlov commanded his colleagues and led the situation to the world's most (in)famous nuclear blast. That room, where the AZ-5 (SCRAM) button was pushed too late. THE Control Room #4.
Closed for over 30 years, now safe and open to you to peek into the most epic part of the Chernobyl story. A place where time stopped the very moment of April 26 when reactor 4 (just 30 meters away) exploded and changed the history of mankind and the destiny of millions of people.
Before you, only experts and investigation crews visited the control room of reactor number 4. Vacant, silent, and undisturbed. The entire story and understanding of Chernobyl can not be completed without a visit to control room number 4. It is the most radioactive place you can legally visit in the Chernobyl zone with the absolute assurance it is safe. Complete overalls, respirator and dosimeter will keep you calm and let you step into the shoes of those operators on that very day.
Besides this “holy grail” of Chernobyl, you will visit the most interesting (and safe) places of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant like the central control room, the reactor 3 cooling system, an underground shelter and control room, the visitors centre of New Safe Confinement (sarcophagus), and more.
Besides the 4-hour Power Plant tour with lunch at the Power Plant dining room, you will also visit the most iconic places in the Chernobyl zone like the Ferris wheel, Kindergarten, or Central square in Pripyat. On top of that and most importantly, you will get a selfie in the Power Plant engineer costume while in the Control room!
The one day Chernobyl Reactor 4 Control Room Tour is a surprising balance between a knowledgeable excursion and a time-travel expedition, with breathtaking moments thanks to the extraordinary program that only 1 in 1000 Chernobyl visitors can choose. Be the one, there is no further you can get.
Your tour starts in Kyiv where you will be served “fresh” newspapers from 1986. The two hour drive to the Chernobyl zone in a comfy van with AC will pass with a blink of an eye thanks to a thrilling Chernobyl documentary available to watch, and an accessible Wi-Fi connection. After the police passport check, getting to know your certified dosimeter, which you can keep or ask for during the tour at any time free of charge, will be your first step in the zone.
As we are travelers just like you, we will not be a hassle, especially on the sites like the Chernobyl power plant sarcophagus, the Control room, Pripyat central square, or the fairgrounds with the iconic ferris wheel. However, it is not the places, but the photos, videos and stories that accompany you throughout the tour, which will give you a sense of the Soviet era and reveal the hidden truth behind Chernobyl. You will even have a chance to enjoy your traditional Ukrainian lunch (from fresh groceries brought in from outside the zone) in the same canteen as the Chernobyl power plant engineers! Full program of the tour can be downloaded below.
Since establishing our tours in 2008 with the promise of making visits to Chernobyl finally safe and accessible for international travellers, we have kept on improving our safety procedures not just by giving you complimentary dosimeters (Geiger-Muller Counters), respirators, and taking you through the verified and cleaned paths, but we will also provide you with at least 3 dosimetric controls so you will feel comfortable on your journey back home. Also, we help you leave your Chernobyl legacy with free postcards and a free ticket to the Chernobyl museum in Kyiv. The Chernobyl Reactor 4 Control Room Tour with CHERNOBYLwel.come will become your life changing tour, where you do not need to take care of anything else other than the storyline. Thank you for not compromising on quality when traveling to Chernobyl.
IS IT SAFE?
Gegarandeerd.
